Nurses seeking the opportunity to begin their career in an encouraging, learning environment can do so at Southeast Georgia Health System. We are proud to be one of the few healthcare facilities to offer a Nurse Transition Program for new graduate nurses. Our Nurse Transition Program allows new nurses the opportunity to transition from student to professional nurse while under the guidance of experienced RNs and Nurse Educators.
Southeast Georgia Health System requires ALL new graduate nurses and nurses with less than six months of acute care experience to enter into our Nurse Transition Program. The program is a 12-week course developed by our Education Team. During this time, transition nurses will participate in a variety of learning scenarios to include professional lectures, ancillary rounds, and precepting time. It is our goal to provide the new nurse with a positive introduction into the nursing profession.
The next Nurse Transition Program will begin February 3, 2014. Applications will be accepted beginning November 18, 2013.
Applications are available here or may be picked up from the Human Resources Department at Southeast Georgia Health System’s Brunswick Campus. Please see the Frequently Asked Questions Link for additional information about the Transition Program and application process.
