Standards

Of Service Excellence

Throughout the many locations that make up the Southeast Georgia Health System network, there is a common thread that pulls everything together: A team of committed professionals like you. These individuals appreciate the value of every person who walks through our doors, and are the key to our culture of service excellence, which is based on the following standards:

  • Accountability

We take responsibility for our own performance and behavior by striving to always be a part of the solution, answering the telephone according to established guidelines, not assuming it’s “someone else’s job,” and complying with applicable laws, regulations, and polices.

  • Compassion

We communicate and behave in ways that are respectful and compassionate by responding to requests for assistance in a timely manner, acting and speaking with respect to customers and colleagues, respecting the privacy and confidentiality of those we serve, and recognizing that our patients’ circumstances require a high level of kindness and concern on our part.

  • Dedication

We demonstrate our personal commitment to our mission of providing safe, quality, cost-effective care by being an advocate for the patients and families we serve, performing at our highest level to fulfill our part in providing or supporting excellent patient care, sharing our knowledge and expertise with others, and ensuring that our actions and communication focus on maintaining a safe environment.

  • Empowerment

We strive to improve the experience of our customers by managing concerns and complaints in a calm, positive, and non-judgmental manner, taking the extra step to comfort and support patients and families, being alert for potential problems and intervening to minimize their impact, and being sincere in all actions and communication.

  • Initiative

We demonstrate a willingness to be a part of the solution by taking action when we recognize something needs to be done, correcting and reporting unsafe conditions, looking for new ways to do our work more effectively and efficiently, and seeking opportunities to improve our knowledge and skill.

  • Ownership

We take pride in our Health System by presenting a professional and appropriate appearance at all times, treating the physical facility of our Health System as we would our own home, reducing waste and using supplies wisely as though they belong to us personally, and speaking positively about Southeast Georgia Health System.

  • Teamwork

We coordinate with other departments and Team Members to achieve excellent results by treating our fellow Team Members with the patience and caring with which we would like to be treated, understanding the challenges facing other Team Members and understanding their role in our success, respectfully approaching conflict openly and honestly, and validating and recognizing the contributions of others.
